New flat...

I suppose I can't blame the lack of recent posts on not having internets in the new flat yet, as I wasn't really posting much before I moved.

The new flat is great, and the view amazing. Being able to scope up oystercatchers and shelducks before work really is quite exciting. The flat-list currently stands at 28 and already has a couple of good bits on it. The second evening had a sandwich tern fishing mid-channel and the other morning, dangerously close to making me late for the train, a brent goose drifted upriver on the tide. We're still at the exciting stage where every evening spent scoping out across the river brings something new - last night's offering was a kestrel hunting the seawall on the other side - and I expect the list could hit 60-something without any real trouble.

The view from immediately outside the window... This is the best I'm willing to do with GIMP - I'm sure I could make it a little better but I don't want to. I cannot begin to adequately explain just how much I FUCKING HATE IT.

I still need to cough up a bit about Cornwall, so in the mean-time here's a spotted flycatcher we found nesting at Trerice. We saw loads of these - it's a bit wierd being somewhere where they're a common garden bird.
