Nothing to report. Except a pipit. And they're boring.

Went to the Rainham owl/dogging site but didn't see either. A kestrel on a lamp post was unimpressed at my presence but was the only thing of interest there. Had a quick look around the Stone Barges, which turned up a handful of pipits. At least one of these was definitely a water pipit but the wind was awful so this is the nearest thing to a focussed shot I have. And I'm not even sure it's the right pipit. These things are so much easier when they're walking round in real life, not sitting still in a shitty photo. Another try at the owls on the way back up was equally fruitless and I was reduced to watching one of those crows with the odd white bit in the wings.

Oh well. I guess not every weekend can be as birdy as the last, huh?

The Kittiwakes are still hanging around our section of the Thames. I had almost the whole group yesterday - at least 8 adults and both first winters - going up behind a dredger. As usual, they were all closely packed immediately behind the ship, only making the occasional foray back into the main body of the trailing gulls.
